Man, i wish these were around when I was a kid.

Mattel’s Hot Wheels brand has launched a digitally-enhanced race track and line of cars. Each car has an NFC tag embedded in it, making it possible to track speed and race time. The track itself is also packed with technology, including an NFC reader that allows it to scan each car as it passes by and send the data to a corresponding app. Cars are registered to the app by tapping each vehicle against the NFC reader on the smartphone.

It’s a great example of a physical experience enhanced with smart use of digital technology.
